Mark Vella

Mark Vella is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in private fund taxation and investment tax specialization. Since July 2015, Mark has been employed at GMO as a Private Fund Tax Specialist, focusing on hedge and private equity alternative investment funds. Prior to this role, Mark served as a Senior Investment Tax Specialist at Brown Brothers Harriman, where responsibilities included preparing tax estimates and federal and state filings, along with PFIC/CFC reporting. Mark's earlier experience also includes roles as an Investment Tax Specialist and Tax Analyst, concentrating on partnership tax issues and international tax treaty research. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and has experience as a Certified Volunteer Tax Preparer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
