Steven Beare

Steven Beare has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Steven started their career at Westpac as a Relationship Executive in Institutional Banking. Steven then worked at Commonwealth Bank as a Senior Manager in Group Compliance. Following that, Steven joined Colonial First State as a Senior Corporate Solicitor and later as a Senior Legal Counsel, providing advice on various legal and compliance issues. Steven also worked at Perpetual Limited as a Senior Manager in Group Risk & Compliance. Steven then joined GMO as a Legal Counsel, where they were responsible for developing compliance and risk frameworks for GMO Australia and GMO Singapore. Steven later became the Senior Legal Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer for Asia Pacific, leading GMO's Asia-Pacific Legal and Compliance team. Currently, Steven serves as the Managing Director of Risk & Compliance/Senior Legal Counsel at GMO, overseeing global investment management strategies and maintaining compliance and risk frameworks.

Steven Beare completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from the University of Sydney from 1991 to 1993. Steven then pursued their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from UNSW, which they successfully completed from 1994 to 1998. Later, they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree with a specialization in Corporate and Commercial Law from UNSW, which they completed from 2004 to 2007.
