Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
Chris Lehnertz serves as the President and CEO of Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy since May 2019, previously holding various executive roles at the National Park Service from 2007 to May 2019, including Superintendent and General Superintendent, where responsibilities included the stewardship of significant national parks and the creation of inclusive workplace environments. Prior to this, Chris Lehnertz served as Regional Director overseeing national park units in the Western United States and as Deputy Superintendent focusing on resource protection. Chris Lehnertz's early career at the US Environmental Protection Agency from 1990 to 2007 involved implementing key environmental protection laws and supporting tribal environmental protections. Chris Lehnertz earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
