Chris Murphy has extensive experience in sports franchise development and sales within the basketball industry. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Franchise Development and President of the Santa Cruz Warriors with the Golden State Warriors since November 2021, Chris previously held the title of President of the Santa Cruz Warriors from November 2015 to November 2021. Chris's career with the Golden State Warriors began in June 2005, progressing through various roles in group sales, culminating in positions such as Senior Director and Director of Group Sales. Chris Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Le Moyne College in 2005.

The Golden State Warriors organization is a charter member of the National Basketball Association. Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors and ultimately, in 1971, the Golden State Warriors when the team moved to its current home in Oakland. The team’s storied history includes five NBA Championships, six of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players and 27 members of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Warriors also were recipients of the 2014 and 2016 Sports Team of the Year Award by the Sports Business Journal/Daily and recognized again this year as a Finalist for the award.
