Zachary Gayer has extensive experience in social media management within the sports industry, currently serving as Director of Social Media for the Golden State Warriors since February 2019, following roles as Senior Manager, Manager, and Coordinator in the same department. Prior to this, Zachary worked as Senior Coordinator of Media Partnerships at Major League Soccer from April 2018 to February 2019 and gained valuable experience at the National Basketball Association (NBA) as Production Assistant and Content Lead for Emerging Media from September 2015 to April 2018. Zachary's foundational experience in sports management began at the University of Michigan Men's Basketball program, where responsibilities included serving as Head Student Manager. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Mass Communication with a specialization in Digital Strategy from the University of Florida, earned between 2020 and 2022, and a degree from the University of Michigan obtained in May 2015.

The Golden State Warriors organization is a charter member of the National Basketball Association. Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors and ultimately, in 1971, the Golden State Warriors when the team moved to its current home in Oakland. The team’s storied history includes five NBA Championships, six of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players and 27 members of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Warriors also were recipients of the 2014 and 2016 Sports Team of the Year Award by the Sports Business Journal/Daily and recognized again this year as a Finalist for the award.
