David Bird

David Bird is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in network engineering and software development. From August 2013 to October 2022, David served as a Staff Software Engineer at Google, where responsibilities included leading a tech team focused on managed software-defined networking solutions. Following this role, David worked as a Principal Architect at Aviatrix and transitioned to a Principal Software Engineer position at Aalyria, specializing in free-space optics dataplane resilience. Additionally, David founded Coova Technologies from July 2006 to September 2013, providing innovative solutions for the wireless and Wi-Fi hotspot markets. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from UCLABS, where recognition included the UCLA Sherwood Prize.
