Karl Skucha is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in machine learning and software engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Google since 2022, Karl leads the ML Supercomputers organization, focusing on advanced machine learning and high-performance computing infrastructure. Prior to this role, Karl was a Software Engineering Manager at Facebook, overseeing the production of large-scale machine learning models, and served as Senior Director of Software Engineering at Salesforce, where contributions included launching the Einstein Assistant. Previous experience includes leadership roles at Zenefits and Microsoft, and engineering positions at Xip, Denali Software, and NVIDIA. Karl holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, where a strong academic foundation was established alongside a Bachelor of Science in the same field.
