Tom Shane

Tom Shane is an experienced product leader currently engaged with Google in the Product, Labs division, focusing on the development of generative AI products. Previously, Tom served as the Head of Product at Block, where responsibilities included overseeing the product management function for the company's newest business unit centered on open source ecosystems and cross-border payments. Prior to that role, Tom was a Product Lead for Risk Management AI at Google Cloud, implementing AI products to enhance banks' customer understanding and operational efficiency. Tom also founded the AI & Financial Services team at Google Cloud, aiming to develop unique AI-driven solutions for financial institutions. Earlier career experiences include strategic operations with World Bicycle Relief and various consultancy roles at Deloitte. Tom holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
