Alexandra Anderson, PhD has a diverse work experience in research and development engineering and teaching. Alexandra started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Gonzaga University, where they conducted mechanical testing on stainless steel. Alexandra then worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at HOTSTART, gaining experience in lean manufacturing principles and project methods. Alexandra then joined Gopher Resource as a Research & Development Graduate Engineer Intern, where they conducted fundamental research on in-process leaching control. Alexandra later re-joined Gopher Resource as a Research & Development Engineer, taking on projects related to energy utilization in reverberatory furnaces. At Colorado School of Mines, Alexandra served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, assisting with teaching and conducting research. Currently, they are a Principal Engineer at Gopher Resource, responsible for directing the reverb productivity program and managing projects related to computational fluid dynamic modeling and operational optimization.

Alexandra Anderson, PhD has a strong education background in engineering and materials science. Alexandra obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gonzaga University in 2013. Alexandra then went on to complete their Master's Degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines from 2013 to 2015. Alexandra further pursued their education at the Colorado School of Mines, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their academic achievements, Alexandra has acquired certifications including a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in September 2020, and an Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) from the Washington State Department of Licensing in 2013.
