Dan VanPelt, PE, PTOE has over 20 years of experience in transportation and urban systems engineering. Dan is currently serving as Vice President & Senior Principal at GOROVE SLADE. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Associate at Wells + Associates, LLC and as the Director of Engineering at Gorove/Slade Associates, Inc. Dan also has experience as a Transportation Engineer at Urbitran Associates and as a Graduate Research Associate at Washington University in St. Louis. Dan VanPelt, PE, PTOE has an extensive education history. Dan obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Transportation & Urban Systems Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Transportation Engineering from the same institution in 1997.

Before attending Washington University, Dan completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from Bethany College in 1995.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dan VanPelt has obtained several professional certifications. Dan is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. These licenses were obtained between 2002 and 2023.

Furthermore, Dan is recognized as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) by the Transportation Professional Certification Board since 2008.
