Mr. Waage is the Executive Vice President of Technical Operations & Administration. Previously, Mr. Waage held various positions from November 2013 to August 2016 at Receptos, Inc., most recently serving as Managing Director after its acquisition by Celgene Corporation, previously serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. From 2012 through its acquisition by Vista Equity Partners LLC in 2013, he served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Websense, Inc. From 2008 through its acquisition by AstraZeneca PLC in 2012, Mr. Waage served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Ardea Biosciences, Inc. Prior to 2008, Mr. Waage served as a partner at DLA Piper LLP. He has been a member of the board of directors of Heron Therapeutics, Inc. since June 2016. Mr. Waage received his J.D. from the University of San Diego, School of Law and a B.A. degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
