Eva Essvik is an accomplished business developer and innovator with extensive experience in the cultural sector. Currently serving as Head of Business Development Partnership and Digital at GöteborgsOperan AB since August 2021, Eva leads the GO XploreArt innovation project aimed at creating a groundbreaking virtual opera house. Previously, Eva held positions at Göteborgs Symfoniker | Göteborgs Konserthus from October 2012 to August 2021, where responsibilities included promoting the symphony to new audiences and partners while developing GSOPlay, a digital concert hall. Earlier experience includes ownership of marketing firms aktimera i kungsbacka ab and popup marketing ab, as well as roles at Henkel Norden AB and aStrategi, showcasing a strong background in marketing, project management, and business development. Eva holds degrees from IHM Business School and the University of Gothenburg.

The Göteborg Opera was inaugurated in 1994 and is to be found next to Lilla Bommen by Göteborg harbour. Here opera, dance, concerts and musicals are performed under the same roof. The Göteborg Opera has 250,000 visitors per year and about 270 performances are given on the different stages. Several international stars have visited the opera house through the years. Nina Stemme, Peter Mattei and Katarina Dalayman are a few of them. The Göteborg Opera also houses GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, one of the foremost contemporary dance companies in Europe and the largest in the Nordic region. With access to legendary choreographers as well as some of the most interesting new generation of dance makers and artists, the dancers of Göteborgsoperans Danskompani contribute towards new expressions and the generation of new exciting art forms. The Göteborg Opera Restaurant has placed a clear emphasis on developing its environmental philosophy. Almost 40 percent of the groceries that are purchased for the Göteborg Opera's kitchen are organic or locally produced. This makes for a vibrant menu with seasonal variation. On certain dates you may also use the Main Stage and its 1,280 seat auditorium.
