Michael Robertson's work experience includes positions at multiple companies in the finance field. Michael began their career at Grant Thornton UK LLP as a Manager from September 2005 to December 2016. Following this, they worked at Abellio Group as a Finance Manager from January 2017 to July 2017. Michael then joined Abellio ScotRail as an Interim Head of Finance from July 2017 to February 2018. In 2018, they returned to Abellio Group and held the positions of Head of Financial Accounting from February 2018 to October 2022 and Group Financial Controller from March 2019 to October 2022. Most recently, they joined Greater Anglia in September 2022 as Finance Director.
Michael Robertson attended the University of Strathclyde from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.Hons) degree in Accounting and Economics. Following that, from 2005 to 2008, they studied at ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs and obtained a CA (Chartered Accountant) certification.

The new Greater Anglia franchise began operating on 16 October 2016. We provide intercity, commuter and rural services throughout Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, including the Stansted Express service. We’re responsible for over 3,000 employees, operate 1,300 train services per day and we’re at 133 stations. Greater Anglia is transforming the railway in East Anglia. We’re replacing every single train with brand new trains with air conditioning, plug and USB points and fast free wifi, which started to come into service during 2019.
