David joined Greenspring Associates as a venture partner. In 2016, he was named Portfolio Director, a move that reflects the time that David has spent with Greenspring’s investments. David previously served as the President of Signal Hill Capital Group, a boutique investment bank located in Baltimore, Maryland. At Signal Hill, David initiated and oversaw the firm’s institutional equities business as well as its venture capital and private equity coverage initiatives. From 1999 through 2003, David was the Vice Chairman of the board of directors of Deutsche Bank Securities and a member of the firm’s global operating committees. Prior to that, David held leadership roles with Alex Brown Incorporated. David serves as a Director of JMP Group Inc., a publicly traded investment bank. David previously served as Lead Director of Learn It Systems, a privately held education services company, which was acquired by LLR Partners. David received an MBA degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA degree from Haverford College.
