Jim Butler has a diverse work experience in the country club industry. Jim most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer at Club Benchmarking since December 2017. Prior to that, they held the position of President and General Manager at Grey Oaks Country Club, an exclusive gated community with multiple amenities. Jim also worked as a Member at the Club Managers Association of America. Jim's career in the country club industry began in 1985 when they became the General Manager at The Forest Country Club.
Jim Butler has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hospitality Administration/Management with a focus on Club and loyalty research from Iowa State University. Jim also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Real Estate development and Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Alma College. Jim Butler has completed coursework in Golf Course Operation and Grounds Management from Edison State College. Jim also received a Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration/Management from Iowa State University. Jim Butler holds certifications as a Certified Club Manager (CCM) and a member of the Professional Golfer Association (PGA).
