Prior to that, they held the position of President and General Manager at Grey Oaks Country Club, an exclusive gated community with multiple amenities. Jim also worked as a Member at the Club Managers Association of America. Jim's career in the country club industry began in 1985 when they became the General Manager at The Forest Country Club.

Jim Butler has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hospitality Administration/Management with a focus on Club and loyalty research from Iowa State University.
