Alex Berrian

Alex Berrian is a Senior Applied Scientist at Gridware since March 2025, focusing on machine learning and digital signal processing to enhance electrical grid protection. Previously, Alex held the position of Machine Learning Engineer at DSP Concepts from August 2021 to February 2025, where responsibilities included developing a machine learning suite for the Audio Weaver platform. Prior roles as an Audio Research Engineer at Gracenote involved creating machine learning algorithms for audio fingerprinting and integrating technologies into production systems. Alex's extensive educational background includes a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Davis, a Master's in Mathematics from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Tufts University, along with study abroad experiences in French and Japanese language and literature.
