Griffiss Institute
Yu Chen has a diverse work experience in the field of IoT and academia. They have recently been appointed as the IoT Technical Director at Griffiss Institute starting in June 2023. Prior to this, Yu Chen held various roles at Binghamton University, including Professor since August 2022, Associate Professor from January 2013 to August 2022, ECE Graduate Program Director from September 2013 to May 2018, and Assistant Professor from January 2007 to December 2012.
Yu Chen completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Chongqing University from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree at the same university between 1994 and 1997. Later, they attended the University of Southern California, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from 2000 to 2006.

Griffiss Institute
The Griffiss Institute (GI) was established in 2002 as an independent 501(c)(3) entity governed by a Board of Directors. The primary role of the GI is to advocate and facilitate the co-operation of private industry, academia and government in developing solutions to critical cyber security problems. Another prime role is to build upontechnologies under development at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Information Directorate to further strengthen the security of our nation's cyber infrastructure.By partnering AFRL with private industry and academia the Griffiss Institute is able to facilitate and grow the technology base of the Upstate NY region. We are focused on providing an environment conducive to the growth of technology and ideas by creating a collaborative research environment accessible to AFRL, local business and academia with the expressed goals of fostering research leading to new solutions in information assurance and spinning out new business opportunities.Member of the Business Incubation Association of New York State.
