Alison Root

Alison Root is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in commercial leadership and social impact initiatives. As the Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Grounded since May 2019, Alison leads sales, marketing, and business operations to launch and scale products in Kenya and beyond. Concurrently, as General Manager and Co-Founder of Booch, Alison oversees the operations of a raw unfiltered kombucha brand. Previous roles include consulting for social enterprises and serving in various capacities at One Acre Fund, where Alison directed policy and expansion efforts to support over 600,000 smallholder farmers across multiple African countries. Earlier career highlights include leadership positions at RESULTS and contributions to global health advocacy initiatives. Alison holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the same institution.
