Aleks Kruza is an experienced data scientist and statistical analyst at Group W since August 2016, specializing in wargames and stochastic models to evaluate military strategies of the US, South Korea, and North Korea. Previously, Aleks served as a Surface Warfare Officer and Navigator in the US Navy from May 2005 to February 2018, leading a team in safe navigation of the USS Reuben James. During a tenure with the United States Seventh Fleet from February 2012 to October 2014, Aleks analyzed strategic objectives of the Democratic Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, and the United States to prevent conflicts and uphold the 1953 Armistice Agreement. Aleks also worked as a Project Manager at Naval Special Warfare Command from October 2008 to January 2011, developing intelligence management applications for SEAL teams. Aleks holds an MBA from McGill University (2015-2017) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University (2000-2005), with additional education from the University of San Diego (2009-2011).
