Gillian Burgess has a strong background in pharmaceutical research, holding executive positions at top companies. Gillian started as the Executive Director at Pfizer in 2005, before becoming the Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for Pain Research. Gillian then moved on to UCB Pharma as the Vice President of Discovery Biology. Gillian later joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as the Head of Research and most recently worked at Grünenthal Group as the Executive Vice President and Head of Research.
Gillian Burgess received a Bsc in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow. Gillian later pursued a PhD in Pharmacology at UCL from 1985 to 1988.
