Jason Wever has a diverse range of work experience in the field of technology. Jason started their career as a Student Technician and Junior Network Administrator at Roger Williams University in 1997, where they gained foundational experience. Jason then worked as a Network Administrator at Maritime Information Systems in 2000.
In 2001, Jason joined Level 3 Communications, LLC as a Security Engineer, responsible for the implementation and administration of public key infrastructure and Nortel's Contivity Extranet Switches. Jason also worked as an Operations Engineer, managing and maintaining Session Border Controllers and NAT Traversal Managers, and later as a Test Engineer.
From 2002 to 2007, Jason served as the Gentoo Linux/SPARC Team Co-Lead at the Gentoo Foundation. In this role, they were responsible for the development and testing of software, as well as planning for the future of the Gentoo Linux/SPARC port.
Jason worked at Avaya, Inc from 2006 to 2009 as a Security Consultant. Jason was part of the Vulnerability Threat Management team, responsible for analyzing security advisories and performing security penetration testing on Avaya software and hardware products.
From 2010 to 2013, Jason worked at Black Duck Software as a Linux Systems Administrator. Jason'sresponsibilities included setting up and deploying Puppet for server management, deploying an internal instance of CloudStack for VM provisioning, and implementing hardware monitoring using Nagios.
Currently, Jason is a DevOps Engineer at GTxcel since 2013, where they leverage their expertise in development and operations to ensure efficient and reliable deployment and management of software systems.
Jason Wever attended Roger Williams University from 1997 to 2000, where they studied Computer Science. Jason then went on to pursue a degree in Information Technology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 2001 to 2006.
