Jane Spencer is a seasoned journalist and media executive with extensive experience in editorial leadership and strategic oversight. Currently serving as Deputy Editor and Senior Vice President of strategy at Guardian News & Media since August 2016, Jane oversees editorial strategy, audience growth, and newsroom innovation for The Guardian's US edition. Prior to this role, Jane was Editor-in-chief and Senior Vice President at Fusion Media Group, managing news and entertainment for a millennial audience. Jane has also contributed to The Daily Beast as Executive Editor and Managing Editor, and gained recognition as a Foreign Correspondent with The Wall Street Journal, where Jane was part of a team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. Educational achievements include a BA in History/Cultural Anthropology from Brown University and a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University specializing in digital storytelling and entrepreneurship.
