Olafur Olafsson has a diverse range of work experience spanning various roles and industries. Olafur started their career as a Store Manager at Europris AS in 2008, followed by a role as a Store Supervisor of fresh products at Krónan Supermarked in 2009. Olafur then worked as a Volunteer at AFS Intercultural Programs from 2008 to 2011. In 2010, they took on the role of a Receptionist at Sixt rent a car for a summer job. From 2009 to 2011, Olafur worked as a Barman at the Grand Hotel Reykjavik, where they also served as a waiter and bartender for private groups and parties. In 2012, they worked as a Barman at Jerónimos 8 and a Barman at the Mercy Hotel. Olafur then joined AFS Iceland in 2014, first as a Coordinator of Volunteers, organizing events and training for volunteers, and later as a Chapter President. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at the Grand Hotel Reykjavík as a Bartender and Receptionist. Finally, in 2014, they began working at Guide to Iceland as a Sales Manager before being promoted to Chief Operations Officer in 2017.
Olafur Olafsson attended the University of Hólar from 2014 to 2015, where they obtained a Diplomatic degree in Event Management. In 2011, they also completed international courses, an advanced course, and molecular mixology training at the shaker UK barschool. Olafur previously attended MH college from 2007 to 2010, and Colegio de Azua in 2008 and 2009, focusing on the field of culture.
