Hack4Impact
Grace Zhang is a software engineer intern with significant experience across several prominent tech companies, including Jane Street, Scale AI, Plaid, Capital One, and PSYONIC. While at Scale AI, Grace developed a dynamic evaluation system for contributor quality scores and improved project workflows. At Plaid, enhancements to the Transfer product's user experience and a new sweep accounts page were achieved. At Capital One, Grace's work on a visual onboarding tool significantly reduced onboarding time and improved data access for teams. Additionally, an innovative real-time debugging tool and advancements in the PSYONIC artificial hand showcased Grace's technical skills using React, Go, MySQL, Django, and React Native. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Grace has cultivated a strong foundation in software development and engineering practices.

Hack4Impact's mission is to foster the wider adoption of software as a tool for social impact. We believe in technology's huge potential to empower activists and humanitarians to create lasting and impactful social change. Today, Hack4Impact has over 900 active members across our 12 chapters, helping over 100 outside non-profit organizations. Hack4Impact exists for both nonprofits and students. We currently connect student software developers with nonprofits and other socially responsible businesses to develop powerful new tools for social change. This enables nonprofits to further their mission and better engage their clients. In addition, we host speaker events and develop workshops for students, open to the entire community.
