Catherine Cunningham

Catherine Cunningham, MD, serves as the Section Chief of Psychiatry at Ocean University Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center, as well as the Medical Director of the Outpatient Psychiatry Faculty Practice at Hackensack Meridian Health since August 2022. In addition to these roles, Catherine is an Assistant Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and previously held the position of Medical Director at Preferred Behavioral Health Group. Prior experience includes working as a Locum Tenens Psychiatrist at Weatherby Healthcare and as a Medical Director at RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, where involvement included the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service. Catherine completed a comprehensive residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, along with a Master's degree in Biomedical Science and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Boston College. Expertise encompasses consultation-liaison psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, tele-psychiatry, and resident education.
