Shakira Robertson has extensive experience in community engagement and youth leadership, currently serving as a Sessional Receptionist and Youth Leader at Hackney CVS since October 2019. In the role of Youth Leader, Shakira facilitates the 'Young Black Men Inspirational Leaders' program, which focuses on empowering young people aged 11 to 25 by helping them explore their values and develop essential life skills. Additionally, Shakira is a Youth Justice Leader with Account Hackney, participating in an independent advisory group that monitors and represents community interests in policing issues. Shakira's previous work experience includes roles as a waitress at Rotunda and Kimchee Korean Restaurant. Hackney CVS (Council for Voluntary Service) is the umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector in Hackney. Hackney CVS supports organisations and communities to work together to tackle inequalities and find solutions to entrenched social problems. Hackney CVS provides advice and training and also acts as a bridge between the public sector and local community groups.
