Muna Merghani

Muna Merghani has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Muna started in 2000 as an intern at UNIDO and then worked as a Commodity Accountant and Programme Officer at CARE. In 2003, they were a Community Development Coordinator at Plan International and later became a Programme Officer at Fond Social de Développement, French Embassy. From 2004 to 2009, they worked as a Programme Officer at the DG European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office - ECHO. In 2009, they shifted gears and became a School Administrator at The Purple Crayon Infant School. Muna then worked as an Executive Manager at Haggar Foundation from 2012 to 2014, where they focused on poverty alleviation and integrated rural development. Muna'smost recent roles were at Haggar Group, where they served as a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager from 2011 to 2014 and later as the Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer starting in 2015. In these roles, they championed sustainability initiatives, established collaborative networks, and led stakeholder engagement forums.

Muna Merghani's education history includes a B.Sc. (Honours) in Computer Sciences from The Future University (1993-1998), a High Diploma in Administration of International Aid from Bioforce (2002-2003), an M. Sc. in Development Management from The Open University (2015), and currently studying Employers' and Business Members Organizations and Sustainable Development Goals at the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO, started in 2020). In addition to these degrees, Muna has obtained certifications such as the GRI Certified Sustainability Professional from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI, obtained in 2023), the Certified Master Trainer from Meirc Training & Consulting (2023), and they also hold a certification in CSR in Practice from The Open University. Muna is also in progress for the GRI Professional Certification. Muna has not provided specific information on the dates of obtaining some certifications or the completion of the DALF B1 - B4 from the Centre Culturel Francais, Khartoum.
