Dorde Popovic has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dorde began their career as a Software Engineer Intern at Basiq in 2019. Following that, they worked at Qatar Computing Research Institute as a Software Engineer Intern, where they designed and built databases, REST APIs, and frontend features for mobile health applications. Dorde also conducted research on identifying phishing attacks and malicious activity on squatting domains.

In 2020, Dorde joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Computational Biology Research Assistant. Here, they programmed machine learning algorithms, built web-scraping tools, and developed data processing and visualization features for studying RNA splicing data in breast cancer patients. Dorde also served in different roles, including working for the Committee for Institutional Equity, the Academic Review Board, and as a Teaching Assistant for various computer science courses.

Currently, Dorde is employed as a Research Assistant at Qatar Computing Research Institute. Their work involves developing detection mechanisms for Trojan backdoor attacks and researching extensions of differential privacy on graph neural networks.

Throughout their career, Dorde has shown expertise in software development, data analysis, machine learning, and teaching. Dorde has also demonstrated leadership skills through organizing and leading training programs, planning orientation programs, and transitioning them into virtual environments.

Dorde Popovic completed their high school education at Doha College from 2016 to 2018, earning a High School Diploma. Dorde then pursued higher education at Carnegie Mellon University from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
