Hamilton Airport (HLZ): gateway to the mighty Waikato and the central North Island.  

Located in the heart of the Waikato, Hamilton Airport is a key regional hub for domestic travel and general aviation, and on 16 June 2025 we go international with Jetstar flights to Sydney and the Gold Coast (18 June).

Hamilton Airport is served by 180+ weekly scheduled services to several national destinations by Air New Zealand, Originair and Sunair and of course, in June 2025, we go international with daily trans-Tasman flights (4 x weekly flights to Sydney and 3 x weekly flights to the Gold Coast)!  

The airport is surrounded by a vibrant aviation community which includes pilot training organisations, helicopter operators, aircraft manufacturers and aviation maintenance businesses.

There are also various commercial opportunities at and around the airport including Titanium Park – the 100 hectare mixed use industrial and commercial business, as well as airport property leases and advertising opportunities.

Hamilton Airport is owned by five local councils including Hamilton City, Waikato District, Matamata-Piako District, Waipa District and Otorohanga District.
