Chief growth officers are responsible for overseeing the expansion of their organization. They commonly play a key role in developing new products or services, identifying new markets to enter, and creating strategies to achieve these goals.
Chief growth officers may also be tasked with managing other aspects of their company’s growth, such as ensuring that it has adequate resources (human, financial, etc.) to support its expansion efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluating new business development opportunities, including analyzing potential markets, assessing client needs, and identifying competitors
- Developing a plan for growth that includes goals, strategies, and tactics for increasing market share in existing markets or creating new ones
- Developing and implementing new products or services that meet customer needs, such as new software applications or mobile apps
- Creating and implementing strategies to acquire new customers or increase sales to existing customers
- Developing strategies to improve employee productivity or satisfaction, including implementing employee training programs or improving workplace culture
- Researching new technologies that could have an impact on the company’s industry or business model
- Analyzing the company’s financial performance against its competitors
- Designing and implementing strategic plans for the company’s future growth or restructuring to help it meet its goals
- Brainstorming with other executives to develop innovative solutions to problems within the company
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or another related field.
- An MBA is a bonus.
- Over 10 years of experience in marketing, sales, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role
- Exceptional team management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to delegate efficiently.
- Extensive industry knowledge with an eye toward the future.
