The Office of Development is responsible for the University's fundraising efforts. As the fundraising and development arm of Hampton University, the Office enhances public understanding and recognition of the University through a variety of activities and events which generate support for the institution's academic programs, annual giving, scholarship initiatives, special and capital projects and the endowment. The office is responsible for building acceptance and partnerships for the University among its related publics, such as corporations, foundations, organizations and friends of the University, and cultivating these constituent groups to obtain private financial resources.
