Job description

HomeCare General Superintendent: This is a skilled position requiring extensive knowledge and experience in the construction industry. Playing a key role in the successful completion of any build, Superintendents must exhibit a strong work and leadership skills along with the ability to plan, organize, direct and control large scale, high-end residential construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee jobsite safety on multiple small projects and remodels.
  • Quality assurance and quality control on multiple small projects and remodels.
  • Identify all technical aspects and any problem areas prior to construction on multiple small projects and remodels.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Review and oversee scheduling on multiple projects. Identify potential scheduling issues.
  • Help facilitate the production sequence.
  • Coordination of scopes of work with trades and subcontractors.
  • Facilitating Superintendents keeping progress schedules current.
  • Maintain close communication with the superintendents and project manager on any unforeseen problems that develop.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and constructability problems as the arise on various projects.
  • Ensure layout is completed on all small projects and remodels.
  • Oversee the foreman, carpenters, and techs within Hansen HomeCare.
  • Assist with the review of shop drawings and submittals as needed.

Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent. College education with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture is preferred.
  • Completion of craft apprenticeship program or equivalent skill level and training.
    10+ years of experience in supervisory position.
  • Ability to understand project scopes and objectives as well as other construction trades.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Current OSHA-30 Certification (or obtained within six months from date of hire).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems before major issues develop.
  • Effective use of computers and other technology.
  • Willingness to be held accountable and act honestly and with integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain diplomatic and calm under pressure.
  • Ideally has been the lead superintendent on several homes roughly 10,000 square feet in size involving heavy sitework, concrete, structural steel, slab on metal deck, complicated high-end finishes, and complex mechanical and electrical systems.
