Tara Wellema

Tara Lachapelle Wellema is a seasoned investment writer and editor currently serving at Harding Loevner LP since June 2022. Prior experience includes a distinguished tenure at Bloomberg from September 2010 to June 2022, where Tara was the first and longest-serving writer of the Real M&A column and contributed as a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion. Tara's background also encompasses roles as a stocks and corporate finance reporter, business journalist at Northwestern University's Medill School, and assistant in the press office of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Additional experiences include editorial work at Dr. Weil's Self Healing and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, mentoring at Teen Voices Magazine, and providing visitor services in Boston. Tara holds a Master's degree from Northwestern University, a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Spanish from Suffolk University, and has passed Level 1 of the CFA from the CFA Institute.
