Harlem Stage
Shamar Hill is an accomplished development professional with extensive experience in fundraising and team leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Development at Harlem Stage since 2021, Shamar oversees a team of twelve and leads the execution of a $25 million comprehensive campaign while raising over $15 million from prominent donors. Prior to this role, Shamar was the Director of Development at the Academy of American Poets, where over $18 million was raised during tenure. Experience as a development consultant involves successfully managing campaigns and raising over $60 million for various organizations. Additionally, Shamar held the position of Development Director at Flatbush Development Corporation, managing a $5 million budget and securing $17 million in funding. Shamar holds an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University and a BA in Writing and Education from Eugene Lang College, New School University.
