Diane Koken

Diane Koken is a legal and regulatory consultant and a court-appointed special advocate for children (CASA). She was elected to the Nationwide Board of Directors in 2007 and to the Nationwide Mutual Funds’ and the Nationwide Variable Insurance Trusts’ boards in 2019.

Koken is a member of several boards, including The Hershey Company, Capital Blue Cross, The Hershey Trust Company, Milton Hershey School, and The M.S. Hershey Foundation. She previously served as Insurance Commissioner of Pennsylvania, a cabinet position for three governors along with multiple prior legal-focused leadership roles, including vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of a national life insurer. Additionally, she has been active with many industry organizations, such as serving as president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the first chair of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission, and vice-chair of the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims.

Koken also is a member of the Women’s Council for the United Way. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Millersville University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
