Michael Travis has extensive experience in the legal field. Michael began their career as a Solicitor at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts in 2002 and later worked as a Legal Counsel at Lion Co, supporting sales and marketing teams. Michael then joined Sohonet as a Legal Counsel, where they handled various legal matters for the television, film, and media production industries. Afterward, Michael worked at ASB Bank as a Solicitor, primarily focusing on legal services. Michael then moved to Yahoo! as a Legal Counsel, providing support for sales, business development, procurement, and HR teams. Michael'srole at Yahoo! included drafting and negotiating contracts for strategic partnerships, products, content licenses, advertising, and technology distribution. Michael later joined Yellow Pages Group as the Head of Legal and Commercial. In this role, they managed all legal, risk, and regulatory compliance issues and provided support for commercial/business development. Michael also served as the General Counsel, Board Secretary, and Privacy Officer, reporting directly to the CEO. Michael then worked as a Legal Counsel at Westpac New Zealand Limited before assuming the position of General Counsel at Harmoney in 2019. With Harmoney, they are responsible for legal matters related to the largest online personal lending platform in Australia and New Zealand.

From 1992 to 1996, Michael Travis attended Auckland Grammar School and received a Bursary. Later, from 1997 to 2001, they attended The University of Auckland, where they obtained a BA/LLB (Hons) degree with a focus on Arts and Law.
