Peter von Kaenel

Peter von Kaenel has been with Harmonic since August 2008, currently serving as Vice President of Compression Technologies, where oversight includes software/hardware compression and audio/video data paths for cloud and appliance-based video compression products across multiple locations. Previous roles at Harmonic include Senior Director positions overseeing Video & Algorithm Technology, codec innovation, and managing the Princeton R&D office. Peter's experience before Harmonic includes a tenure at PVI from June 1994 to August 2008, where leadership encompassed various roles culminating as Director of System Software, and consultancy work with SightLogix focusing on real-time computer vision algorithms. Peter holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Rochester.
