Group Chief Operating Officer, Operations at Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd

Beyers was appointed chief operating officer of the South African operations on 1 March 2016. Prior to this appointment, he was the regional general manager responsible for some of Harmony’s mining operations as well as the group’s metallurgical plants. Beyers joined Harmony on the merger with African Rainbow Minerals Gold in 2003. He has 19 years’ experience in various operational, management and executive roles in gold mining, gained on opencast, deep and ultra-deep level mines. Beyers is a past President of the Association of Mine Managers of South Africa. He serves as a director on the board of Mines Rescue Services Pty Ltd.
