Joseph Coyle serves as the Eben S. Draper Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at Harvard University since July 1991, with extensive involvement in psychiatric research dating back to 1968. Previously, Joseph Coyle held the position of Chief Scientific Officer and Director of the Division of Neuroscience at McLean Hospital from January 2011 to August 2015, and acted as Editor for JAMA Psychiatry from January 2002 to December 2014. Commitment to academic publishing was further demonstrated through participation on the Editorial Board of JAMA during the same period. Between July 1991 and June 2001, Joseph Coyle served as Chairman of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining Harvard, Joseph Coyle was the Distinguished Service Professor and Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine from 1982 to 1991. Education includes an MD in Medicine and Psychiatry from The Johns Hopkins University (1965-1991) and an A.B. in Philosophy and French from the College of the Holy Cross (1961-1965).
