Michael Tran Duff

Michael Tran Duff is a distinguished information security and privacy leader with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security and Data Privacy Officer at Harvard University since May 2022, Michael orchestrates comprehensive security and privacy programs while balancing regulatory obligations and academic freedom. Previous roles include Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Stanford University, where Michael established the institution as a leader in applied cybersecurity. Michael also contributes valuable insights as a Supervisory Committee Member at Stanford Federal Credit Union, a Board Member of the Bay Area CSO Council, and a former Board Committee Member at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. With a strong educational background from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michael holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Computer Science and Engineering, as well as a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
