Michael Sheely

Michael Sheely is a skilled Software Engineer at Google since July 2017, focusing on backend infrastructure for internet crawling. In addition to this role, Michael serves as a Mentor at the Harvey Mudd Dean of Students Office, assisting in event planning and student support, and has held various tutoring and grading positions in computer science and mathematics at Harvey Mudd College since September 2013. Michael's research experience includes internships at Google and UCLA, where contributions ranged from spam fighting for Gmail to implementing algorithms for robotic swarms. An accomplished Robotics Engineer, Michael led a high school team to success in the international MATE ROV robotics competition, securing both third and first place. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College in 2017.
