Michael Moody

Trustee at Hastings College

A Hastings College graduate, Dr. Michael Moody ’66 has had successful careers in both academia and business. An Auburn, Nebraska native, he earned his Ph.D. in English history from The Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California, and has taught at several schools, including the University of Denver. He is a published scholar and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society of England.

In 1979, Dr. Moody left teaching for the aerospace industry, where he subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility with the General Dynamics, Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon engineering organizations, specializing in internal communications and administration. He retired in 2007, and currently continues his historical research as an independent scholar at the Henry E. Huntington Library in San Marino, California.

A passionate liberal arts advocate and a strong supporter of Hastings College, Dr. Moody is a man of diverse interests who also enjoys collecting rare sixteenth- and seventeenth-century books concerning Reformation England, which is his particular field of study.

He joined the Hastings College Board of Trustees in 2010.

Hastings College

Founded in 1882, this private, four-year residential college is dedicated to high academic achievement, intellectual discovery and deliberate mentoring. With an enrollment of 1,100 students, Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, features a multitude of student-centered initiatives.
