Hastings College
A Hastings College graduate, William Barrett ’77 is vice president, tax and tax subsidies, for GLOBALFOUNDRIES, a privately held corporation and one of the world’s leading dedicated semiconductor foundries providing comprehensive wafer fabrication services and technologies. Mr. Barrett is a certified public accountant and holds an MPA degree (tax specialization) from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the son of Bill Barrett, emeritus trustee and former Nebraska congressman. The Barrett Family Alumni Center at Hastings College is named in his family’s honor.
Mr. Barrett was elected to the Hastings College Board of Trustees in 2007, is Secretary of the Board, and also serves on the Budget and Finance Committee.

Hastings College
Founded in 1882, this private, four-year residential college is dedicated to high academic achievement, intellectual discovery and deliberate mentoring. With an enrollment of 1,100 students, Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, features a multitude of student-centered initiatives. These include providing all required textbooks, an iPad Pro and a two-week study abroad experience at no additional cost. A block-style semester schedule allows professors and students to focus on fewer classes at a time and promotes hands-on experiences.
