Duane Ipo Thompson serves as a Fire Captain for the Hawaii Fire Department since 2005 and is a co-founder of WAA Ocean & Film Safety LLC, which specializes in risk management services for film productions and events on the Big Island of Hawaii. With expertise in ocean safety and rescue, incident action planning, and on-set security, WAA has supported notable projects such as "Jumanji 2" and "Avatar 2." In addition, Duane holds the position of President on the Board of Directors for Hui Hoʻoniho 501(c)(3), focusing on the preservation of Hawaiian cultural practices. Previous roles include ramp service and aviation security at Delta Air Lines and firefighter duties with the Honolulu Fire Department. Duane's education includes an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science & Public Safety from Honolulu Community College and Keiser University.
