Mike Navares has over 40 years of experience in aviation and education. Currently serving as Managing Director at Hawaiian Airlines since December 2016, Mike previously held the position of Airport Manager at the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Airports Division from September 2014 to December 2016. Prior to that, Mike spent over 34 years at United Airlines, concluding as General Manager. Mike began a professional career in education as a Teacher with the Department of Education from August 1978 to June 1988, focusing on physical education and biology, while also coaching football, wrestling, and track. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Science and Education from Willamette University, earned between 1972 and 1976, and graduated from St. Louis High School in 1972.
