Jason Kayser

Adjunct Instructor at Hawkeye Community College

Jason Kayser is a seasoned fire safety professional and educator with extensive experience in fire prevention, emergency management, and public safety. Currently serving as a Fire Safety Specialist at the University of Northern Iowa since September 2010, Jason is responsible for inspecting fire safety equipment, conducting fire drills, and training faculty and students on fire safety policies. In addition to this role, Jason is an Adjunct Professor at Upper Iowa University and an Adjunct Instructor at Hawkeye Community College, teaching courses related to emergency management and fire science. With a long-standing commitment to fire safety, Jason also holds the position of Assistant Fire Chief at Fairbank Fire Department, overseeing the EMS Division and compliance initiatives. Prior experience includes roles as a firefighter and EMT with Waterloo Fire Rescue and a police officer with Jesup Police Department. Jason holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration-Fire Science from Upper Iowa University, complemented by various certifications from the National Fire Academy.
