Nathan Deal

Nathan Deal, M.D., FACEP, currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at HCA Healthcare since April 2023, following an extensive career in healthcare leadership. From March 2016 to February 2021, Nathan held the position of Executive Vice President and Administrator for Ben Taub and Quentin Mease Hospitals within Harris Health System, overseeing a $400M budget and a large workforce. Additionally, Nathan contributed to system-level departments as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Harris Health System, managing a $50M budget. Prior experience includes roles at Baylor College of Medicine, where Nathan was an Emergency Physician, Assistant Professor, and involved in operations as Associate Chief of Operations for the Emergency Medicine Department. Nathan's expertise also includes leadership positions within emergency departments at Westside Surgical Hospital and Harris County Hospital District Ben Taub General Hospital. Nathan earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Rice University.
