Headington School
Dr Charlie Foster is a leading academic in public health and runs the Centre for Nutrition, Exercise and Health Sciences at the University of Bristol. He has worked in schools, industry (Ford Motor Company, McKinsey & Company) and the NHS before his academic career.
His research has been published in over 200 papers including research in JAMA, the Lancet and the BMJ, with over 100 as senior author, including on adolescent screen use, mental health and health schools. He has global policy experience working with World Health Organization, European Commission, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA.
Since 2015 he has been the Chair of the UK Chief Medical Officers Expert Committee for Physical Activity. He was awarded an OBE in the 2019 New Year’s Honors list for services to physical activity promotion and research.
Charlie became a Governor of Headington School in 2020. Charlie sits on the Development Committee.
