Dr. Tara Bates is an experienced professional in stakeholder engagement and communications, currently serving as the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager at headspace since November 2018. Previously, Dr. Bates held multiple roles at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, including Manager of External Relations and Policy and Advocacy Advisor, from April 2017 to November 2018. Prior experience includes serving as a Ministerial Adviser for Hon Ian Hunter MLC and as a Board Member for YWCA of Adelaide. Dr. Bates completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Gender Studies and Social Analysis at the University of Adelaide, where earlier studies also included an Honours degree in Social Sciences, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies.
