Xan Sayers currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the National Coordinator at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) since July 2022, where responsibilities include managing calendars and facilitating meetings with various stakeholders. Xan began a career in art and education with internships at prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution and The Ringling, complemented by a Master's degree in Art History from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Washington and Jefferson College.

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is the lead agency charged with formulating the federal government’s health IT strategy and coordinating federal health IT policies, standards, programs, and investments. ONC is organizationally located within the Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The position of National Coordinator was created in 2004, through an Executive Order, and legislatively mandated in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) of 2009.
